Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated 15 September 2026

Who we are

This site is operated by Crosbies Security 2025 Limited ("Crosbies", "we", "us"), a New Zealand company providing mobile solar CCTV, monitoring and site security services.

We are the agency responsible for personal information collected through this website. If you have a question about this policy or about information we hold, contact us on 0800 113 262 or at office@crosbies.co.nz.

Once you engage us for site monitoring or CCTV services, a separate service agreement (including its own privacy terms) will apply. This policy covers our website only.

What we collect

We only collect personal information you choose to give us, plus limited technical information created automatically when you visit.

  • Site assessment enquiries: your first and last name, email address, phone number, company, site type and any site details you describe.
  • Site monitoring setup forms: contact details for you, your site, your nominated key holders and any app users you register, along with the response instructions you provide for that site.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the site you arrived from, recorded in standard server logs by our hosting provider.
  • Cookie and advertising identifiers, where you have consented to them. See "Cookies and tracking" below.

How we use it

We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, set up and operate monitoring for your site, and contact the right people if an incident occurs.

We use technical and cookie information to keep the site running, understand which pages are useful, and measure the performance of our advertising.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is necessary to run this website and our service. Our current providers are:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting and content delivery. Handles server logs and traffic routing.
  • Brevo — delivery of the emails generated by our website forms.
  • Sanity — the content management system behind the text and images on this site. It does not store form submissions.
  • Google (Analytics and Tag Manager) — website analytics and advertising measurement, only where you have accepted cookies.
  • LinkedIn — advertising measurement, only where you have accepted cookies.

Some of these providers store or process information outside New Zealand. We only use providers that are subject to comparable privacy safeguards.

We may also disclose information where we are required or permitted to by law, including to New Zealand Police in connection with an incident on a monitored site.

Cookies and tracking

A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We use two kinds.

  • Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. These are always active and do not identify you personally.
  • Advertising and analytics cookies, currently Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and the LinkedIn Insight Tag, help us understand how the site is used and measure how our advertising performs. These only load after you press Accept on the cookie banner.

If you decline, none of these advertising or analytics tags are loaded. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may not behave as expected.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and monitoring setup information for as long as we need it to provide our service and to meet our legal and insurance obligations, and then delete or de-identify it — typically within 24 months of an enquiry going cold or the agreement ending, unless we need it longer for legal, insurance, or incident-related reasons.

Server logs and cookie data are retained for a short period by our providers under their standard retention schedules.

Keeping it secure

This site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are encrypted in transit. We limit access to enquiry and monitoring information to the Crosbies staff who need it to do their job. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to ask for a copy of it, and to ask us to correct anything that is wrong.

Email office@crosbies.co.nz or call 0800 113 262 and we will respond within 20 working days. There is no charge for a standard request.

If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Privacy Commissioner as required by law.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service or our providers change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

Our Terms of Trade are a separate document and are available from your Crosbies quote, or on request from office@crosbies.co.nz.
